Wafer paper has a similar texture to printer paper, but it's vegan, gluten-free, and free from most allergens. It has a subtle flavor and won't interfere with the taste of a cake. Once the wafer paper is lit it will burn away to the edges/boarder of the buttercream dam. Wafer paper is edible when burned and tastes like a roasted marshmallow.
